Stone Pony Family Holiday Rock Show features Kindie Rock
Dec 13 show benefits AP Music Foundation's Youth Initiative
Asbury Park’s music scene turns its focus to the city’s youth.
On Dec. 13, Lakehouse Music Academy and the Asbury Park Music Foundation [APMF] will present “Family Holiday Rock Show,” a showcase of Kindie Rock performers.
Kindie Rock is a children’s music genre aimed at kids under age 10.
Held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ocean Avenue located Stone Pony, the family-friendly event also features kids’ holiday activities and live music performances to benefit “Music Saved My Life,” the APMF’s Youth Initiative.
“[We] believe music is the soul of our city,” APMF Executive Director Matt Hockenjos [at right] said in a written statement. “Our mission is to preserve, exhibit and promote the rich musical heritage of Asbury Park – past, present and future – and to contribute to the city’s revitalization by securing Asbury as a musical destination. It is by creating partnerships and fundraisers like the Family Holiday Rock Show that we are able to reach our goal.”
The musical youth event includes a holiday photo booth – complete with a rock ‘n’ roll Santa, a holiday tattoo station, Rook Coffee cold brew bar, a stroller valet, cash bar, and grill and goodie bags.
Performers include:
Play Date – the award-winning Kindie Rock Band by husband-and-wife duo Greg Attonito and Shanti Wintergate. Attonito is the lead vocalist and founding member of The Bouncing Souls and Wintergate is a singer/songwriter.
Tim Kubart is host of the NBC Universal’s Sprout channel show – “Sunny Side Up” and founding member of Kindie Rock’s Tim and the Space Cadets and Postmodern Jukebox’s “Tambourine Guy.”
