Taste Awards II nominees include some 20 city eateries
online voting for Jersey Shore's outstanding restaurants open
The Taste Awards II voting is now open and close to 20 of the city’s eateries are vying for the best of the best accolades.
Administered annually by Jersey Shore Restaurant Week presenters, the online voting asks members of the public to pick the best eateries in 13 categories that range from Outstanding Fine Dining to best service and wine program.
Lake Avenue located Moonstruck is the only city restaurant in the running for Outstanding Fine Dining and they also landed a spot on the Outstanding Service category.
Newcomers Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten, Cross and Orange, and The Bonney Read are not only competing for best new restaurant but also for the best of the casual dining eateries and specialty offerings.
The Asbury Festhalle and Beirgarten also landed on the best restaurant design and ambiance category, along with Cross and Orange, Pascal and Sabine and Taka.
Waterfront eateries Stella Marina, Cubacan and The Watermark are in the running, as well as waterfront district located Kim Marie’s and Porta.
And although Langosta Lounge was the only one of Marilyn Schlossbach’s triage of offerings alsong the Asbury Park boardwalk to make the list, the restaurateur is in the running for best restaurant group, along with the Smith Group, who brought us the popular Brickwall, Pascal and Sabine, Porta, and Happiness.
Chef James Avery of Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten and The Bonney Read is in the running for Outstanding Jersey Shore Chef, as well as Pascal and Sabine’s Rob Santello and Taka’s Takahiro Hirai.
The recently transformed Skratch [formerly Redemption] gets a nod in the Bar/Pub category and for their Bar/Cocktail program, while Taka and Cibo e Vino get nods for their wine programs.
And, in the running for Outstanding Breakfast/Lunch are downtown located Toast and The Speakeatery.
