Open Space, capital budget, muncipal judge, & community garden on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
A public participation session is scheduled to take place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include special event requests as follows:
• The Board of Education request to close Prospect Avenue at the Martin Luther King Jr Middle School parking lot until 5p.m. for its Spring Fair event on April 27.
• Madison Marquette officials schedule for its summer Bonfire on the Beach series, as well as its Fireworks displays at Fourth Avenue beach for Memorial and Labor Day celebrations.
• Fits Entertainment of Eatontown requests use of Bradley Park for its Big Splash 2016 festival from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6. The event features water rides, arts and music.
• The agenda also includes a presentation by Michele Alonso, the city’s Director of Planning and Redevelopment, on the Monmouth County Municipal Open Space Grant.
• City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss the municipality’s Capital Budget, city hall and workforce development requests for proposals, its road program, the community garden, trash can plan and interviews for a municipal judge.
