The Sun’s City Council Preview

Parking, Hiring Police, Beach Yoga, and Property Maintenance on Agenda

The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.

A public participation session is takes place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:

• Special event applications.

• City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss changes to special event permits as well as proposed set aside and property maintenance code changes.

• The agenda includes police and fire alarm systems, COPS [a grant] hiring program, and beach yoga.

• Capabianco will also discuss amendments to the metered parking rules and the city’s search for a parking consultant.
