Boardwalk Band Shell Reno and Transportation Planner on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
A public participation session takes place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials.
Items on the agenda include:
Special event requests for an Optimum Little Rio event, the annual National Night Out, an End of Summer Camp Fun Day, Sunday Worship Experience, Back to School Carnival, and the Fourth Annual Asbury Park Bell Buoy Row. There are three wedding applications on the agenda.
There will be a discussion on the Fifth Avenue Pavilion Band Shell Renovation. Boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette’s plans include the addition of a ground floor restaurant, a new façade, and ADA compliant ramps and restrooms. A new rooftop eatery which will serve as a year round entertainment venue for weddings and other special events, will feature sliding glass windows to create a seamless connection to the refurbished band shell, its stage, and 200 seats.
City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss a Transportation Planner, Salary Ordinance Amendment, and an Animal House Ordinance.
