Expanding CBD Allowable Businesses Along Cookman Ave on Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall.
A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by the 7 p.m. regular council meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:
• Executive Session City Council discussions regarding amendments to the waterfront redevelopment plan and the pending sale of a portion of Kennedy Park as it pertains to the redeveloper’s agreement.
• During the Regular Session, resolution votes will be made regarding The Saint’s Liquor License renewal, acceptance of a close to $115,000 Mental Health and $17,000 body Armor grants, acceptance of the state’s $1 million transitional aid allotment, extending the parking meters warranty for the annual $44,296 agreement, the sale of a portion of Kennedy Park, and awarding Black Rock Enterprises of Old Bridge the $3.6 million bid for the 2015 road improvement program, which includes refurbishing Fourth Avenue from Ridge Avenue to Memorial Drive and T&M Associates a professional services contract to oversee the work.
• The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments prior to the final votes regarding a $1.5 million bond in support of various communication system improvements, vacating a portion of Lee’s Lane, changes to how work is conducted and signs are placed within the city’s rights of way areas, and the Central Business District changes that includes expanding the types of ground floor businesses allowed along the Cookman Avenue corridor.
