Sackman Projects, Asbury Lanes Liquor License, & Road Improvement On Agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
There will be 5 p.m. closed executive session prior to the 6 p.m. public workshop session and 7 p.m. Regular Meeting.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting.
Items on the agenda include:
• Executive session discussions regarding contract negotiations with waterfront redeveloper iStar, with respect to parking agreements, and litigation discussions related to rem foreclosures.
The workshop session will include:
• An insurance review and update by Ezio Altamura, Senior Vice President, GJEM Insurance Agency, Inc.
• A project presentations for 1003 Bond Street with regard to public right of way encroachment associated with its private parking plan.
• And Sackman Enterprises redevelopment plans for its 512 Summerfield Avenue and 574 Cookman Avenue projects.
The Regular Session meeting will begin with a proclamation in recognition of Arbor Day.
• The governing body will vote on 15 special event applications, weddings and budgetary matters.
• Votes also will include the renewal of the Asbury Lanes Liquor License, inactive since September 30, 2015; and a person to person liquor license transfer from AP Vines, LLC to 934 Shive, LLC for Lush, located at 644 Cookman Avenue.
• Also up for approval is the acceptance of a $250,000 Monmouth County Park System Municipal Open Space grant to help fund the acquisition of Bradley Cove; awarding T&M Associates design and construction for the intersection of Springwood and Atkins avenues for a new traffic signal, ADA ramps and other amenities at a cost not to exceed $79,500.
• Back on deck for approval is work by Black Rock Enterprises of Old Bridge as it pertains to an overall $3.7 million ongoing road improvement project. This time around the approval outlines milling and paving work for Bergh Street between Asbury Avenue and First Avenue. Improvement work is being done by the company along Fourth Avenue from Ridge Avenue to Memorial Drive. T&M Associates is overseeing the scope of work.
• There will also be a vote to award Lucas Construction the roadway reconstruction, curb, sidewalk, drainage, and the sanitary sewer replacement and repairs along Fourth Avenue, from Ridge Avenue to Memorial Drive.
• Being weighed are the award for emergency response service testing; the purchase of three utility vehicles, three police cars, and a street sweeper; and accepting the New Jersey Department of Transportation award to their Bicycle and Pedestrian Assistance program.
• A second reading and public hearing will held prior to the following votes:
• Establishing the Senior Housing Inspector title at a starting annual rate of $53,938 and maximum $76,826.
• A handicapped parking space along the 300 block of Third Avenue.
• Amending the outdoor seating guidelines in the L1 zone to address canopy guidelines and prohibiting drive-thrus in the B2 zone.
• Amending the city’s non discrimination policy guidelines.
• And an easement to allow for the public right of way encroachment attached to the Habitat For Humanity redevelopment project along Memorial Drive near Fourth Avenue.
