Update: Teen Hospitalized For Non Life Threatening Gunshot Injury
County and APPD seek public's help with Weds Night Washington Avenue Shooting Investigation
The teen wounded in a Wednesday night shooting along Washington Avenue was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to written statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Asbury Park Police confirmed the 15-year-old female sustained injuries in front of a home on the 1200 block of Washington Avenue.
The local police department responded at approximately 11:05 p.m after they heard several gunshots in the immediate area, officials said.
“When officers arrived in the area of the Washington Village Apartment complex on Washington Avenue, they located a 15-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the leg,” according to the statement. “A vehicle located in a driveway was also struck by gunfire and the Washington Village security booth was also struck”
