Water-boil advisory lifted for remaining towns in Greater Asbury area
Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Ocean Township and Neptune no longer included; outdoor water use restrictions still in effect
According to a statement on the website of the New Jersey American Water Company, the water-boil advisory has been lifted for the towns of Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Neptune and Ocean Township.
Asbury Park and Interlaken had the advisory lifted Saturday morning as those two towns draw their water from the Glendola reservoir in Wall Township.
A rupture of three water mains at the Swimming River reservoir in Lincroft on Friday caused the water-boil advisory to muncipalities drawing water from that source, which includes Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Ocean Township and a part of Neptune.

For areas where the boil advisory has been lifted, customers should flush household pipes, ice makers, water fountains, etc. prior to using for drinking or cooking using these guidelines for flushing:
Run all cold water faucets in your home for one minute at one time at the highest flow rate that you can without causing splashing or flooding of drains.
To flush automatic ice makers, make three batches of ice and discard.
Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines specified in the owner’s manual.
Run drinking water fountains for one minute at the highest flow rate possible.
