Police release rendering of robbery suspect
Man is now thought to be white, not Hispanic
Ocean Township Police have released a composite sketch of a man they believe was involved in the strong arm robbery of a Chinese food delivery person at the Wanamassa Garden apartments last week.
One of the suspects was originally said to be a “heavy set Hispanic male” wearing a black jacket at the time. Police now believe the man is a Caucasian male [shown at right] and not Hispanic, as originally reported.
A second person was described as a black male who was wearing a black colored half ski mask, according to police. No further information has been released about the second person at this time.
When police arrived at the complex Tuesday evening they learned two people had placed an order for Chinese food takeout at a nearby restaurant, but beat and robbed the delivery person of his cash, wallet, iPhone and the food he was delivering upon arrival, police said.
Both men fled the scene after the incident and were last seen getting into an older white sedan that was parked in the Ocean Plaza parking lot, according to police.
The delivery person suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
