Police are reporting a street robbery in the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township Friday night, and they’re asking the public to help identify two suspects they say were caught on a surveillance video from a Sunset Avenue convenience store.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:43 pm when a male victim was robbed in the area of Sunset and Allen avenues, according to a statement from the Ocean Township Police Department.

The victim reported that two unknown males demanded cash and threatened him with violence, although no weapons were mentioned or shown, according to the statement.

After the act, the two suspects fled the area on foot, the statement said. As police investigated, surveillance footage from a Sunset Avenue convenience store depicted two males who fit the description based on the victim’s account, according to the statement.

Ocean Township police are asking the public for their assistance in identifying the two males in the surveillance images, the statement said. Click here for the images from the video. Anyone knowing the identity of the two suspects should contact Detective Michael Legg of the Ocean Township Police Department at 732-531-1800.
