Ocean PD Nabs 18-year-old via motor vehicle violation stop

A Carteret teen was arrested on weapons and drug charges following a motor vehicle violation stop early Saturday morning, Ocean Township Police officials announced via a news statement.

Jonathan S. Flores, 18, was charged with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of a hidden kitchen knife, officials said.

Officers pulled Flores over near 12:03 a.m. Saturday along Asbury Avenue near Bowne Road after witnessing several motor vehicle violations.

From the news release:

Further investigation revealed that Flores was in possession of marijuana and was placed under arrest. During the arrest, Flores was also found to be in possession of a kitchen knife which he had concealed in his pants.

Flores was released on a summons, pending an initial court appearance.

Police Officer Zach Rhein investigated.
